In view of the great importance of photography for G+J magazines, G+J focuses on sponsoring reportage photography.

Large-scale exhibitions are hosted in the foyer of the press building in Hamburg, including the annual premiere of the World Press Photo Awards in Germany. For more than 50 years, an international jury from the World Press Photo Foundation has chosen the best and most impressive photos from the past year. Every year, the WORLD PRESS PHOTO exhibition presents moving and intense pictures that look back on the events of that year. In addition to haunting and unsettling pictures from the world’s conflict-ridden areas, the exhibition also presents photographic highlights from the fields of sports, art, environment and science.
The World Press Photo Foundation, which has its headquarters in Amsterdam, lobbies for independent press photography. G+J has supported the foundation since 1994. The World Press Photo Award is the largest and most renowned competition in press photography in the world. www.worldpressphoto.org
