G+J Media Sales is the marketing unit of G+J Germany, the ad market leader in the popular magazine segment. In Germany, G+J Media Sales is present in seven locations (Hamburg, Hanover, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Munich), which are divided into the five regions North, West, Central, South West and South. In addition to these, there are the G+J sales offices, as well as independent commission agents located abroad. The CEOs of G+J Media Sales are Stan Sugarman (spokesman) and Guido Modenbach.

The G+J Media Sales portfolio comprises about 90 magazines and one newspaper, including large print titles such as STERN, BRIGITTE, GEO, CAPITAL, GALA, ELTERN, ESSEN&TRINKEN, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DEUTSCHLAND, and FINANCIAL TIMES DEUTSCHLAND.
Focused title marketing is realized via the strong marketing lines NEWS and STYLE. The NEWS line mainly comprises titles for male target groups, while the STYLE line primarily covers titles for female target groups. In addition to this, the DIRECT SALES section ties the marketing of titles that cater to focused client potentials and are marketed without field work.
This gives G+J Media Sales a compact structure which accurately maps the most important target groups for the clients and enables fast, targeted access to the G+J title portfolio. At the same time, this structure enables external publishing companies (clients) to order the relevant marketing services they need in the NEWS and STYLE lines, as well as the DIRECT SALES section – either as a full service package or for targeted subtasks. Clients can also make use of individual marketing functions such as ad management, sales services, market research or marketing.
In addition, Gruner + Jahr is majority shareholder of Motor Presse Stuttgart, one of the biggest special interest magazine publishers in Europe with print titles such as AUTO MOTOR SPORT, MOTORRAD, and MEN'S HEALTH, which are marketed abroad by G+J Media Sales.
The Entertainment Media Verlag also belongs to G+J. It is the leading information provider for the entertainment industry, and completes the range with titles such as TREFFPUNKT KINO, and VIDEOTIPP.
Furthermore, G+J Electronic Media Sales (EMS), a subsidiary company of G+J AG & Co., markets more than 30 websites, including G+J websites such as stern.de, BRIGITTE.de, Eltern.de, and Kino.de, as well as client websites. Mobile marketing with the G+J mobile services, clients such as Vodafone live! and o2Active, as well as performance marketing via Ligatus complete the service range.
