G+J is always evolving: We take shaping our future into our own hands by changing the way we work together – from within. This is crucial to us as our employees are the heart of our company and the roots of our culture. New Work is not a buzzword for us, quite the opposite: We have learnt a lot from each other and managed to improve our business through shared initiatives and projects - and we are not done yet.
New Work at G+J means: We want to be the most innovative, most creative and most sustainable publisher. In order to reach that goal, we form alliances, develop new magazines, products and business models – and all of that in a brave, fast and interdisciplinary way. We love to experiment and to explore new possibilities and opportunities instead of following a fixed path.
We believe in the innovative spirit and the expertise of our employees. We share our knowledge with each other, for example during our “Kollegen-Campus”-sessions. Here, employees offer different self-designed training sessions to colleagues. Each “trainer” chooses a topic in which they are trained or knowledgeable in – true to the motto: not against each other, but together.
Übern Tellerrand (Seeing the big picture)
This motto isn’t only true internally but also externally. For our series of “Übern Tellerrand”-events, different organizational leaders from other companies are invited to speak about their experiences with New Work and to discuss new ideas on how to shape the modern working world with interested participants.
Agile methods are a useful addition to our working methods in many of our teams. In a complex environment, they facilitate the required flexibility and collaboration. By using agile working methods, we strive to improve transparency and self-organization within the teams.
We trust in our internal competencey and train colleagues specifically to support teams in house: as Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters and Retrospective Moderators.
