The future head offices of Gruner + Jahr are to be located in Lohsepark, near the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg's HafenCity. Gruner + Jahr is having a new building erected for the publishing house there and is planning to move there in 2021. The address will then be "Am Hannoverschen Bahnhof".

Since October 2016, the G+J i|MS sales offices in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France represent the multimedia portfolio of the Spanish Iberia Airline with its EXCELENTE and RONDA magazines. Starting in January 2017 G+J i|MS will also represent the Aer Lingus media portfolio with CARA magazine. G+J i|MS already represents British Airways media for Cedar, a London based content agency.

G+J Digital Ventures (www.gujdv.com) and Ringier Digital Ventures are investing in the DIY startup Makerist (www.makerist.de). In addition to the two new investors, existing investors Hightech-Gründerfonds (High-Tech Founder Fund, HTGF) and OZ Verlag are also participating in the Series B financing round of 5 million euros.

Gruner + Jahr has joined Google’s Digital News Initiative (DNI), which was established to promote innovative digital journalism projects. The initiative has also pledged a six-figure sum in support of a project by the Hamburg publishing house: the development of a news application centered around a new technology for content curation.

To this end, the sales houses IP Deutschland and Gruner + Jahr e|MS have formed the Ad Alliance. Corporate content experts G+J Corporate Editors and Medienfabrik, HR marketing specialist Employour, as well as CrossMarketing, one of the biggest independent media agencies in Germany, and trnd, Europe’s leading provider in the field of personnel marketing, have merged to create the new market leader in this segment with a turnover of more than 130 million euros und around 850 employees.
