Angelika Jahr-Stilcken will be appointed to the Gruner + Jahr supervisory board effective April 1st, 2008. At the same time, she will resign from the executive board and withdraw from the company´s operations by laying down her publishing and editorial duties
Angelika Jahr-Stilcken, a native of Berlin, joined Gruner + Jahr in 1969 after graduating from university and training as a journalist. In 1972, she developed ESSEN ; TRINKEN, the first food title in the German magazine market. Since then she has planned and supervised a number of new magazines, including LIVING AT HOME (2000), ESSEN ; TRINKEN FÜR JEDEN TAG (2003) and DOGS (2006). In 1988, she became editor-in-chief of SCHÖNER WOHNEN and HÄUSER, a position she holds to this day.
Since 1994, Angelika Jahr-Stilcken has served as chief publishing executive of the G+J Living group, and publisher of all its publications. She also supervises her group´s websites: livingathome.de, essenundtrinken.de und schoenerwohnen.de.
In 2000, she was appointed a Journalistic Member of the Gruner + Jahr AG executive board.
Angelika Jahr-Stilcken is regarded today as one of the most successful female journalists in the management of target-group- and topic-specific magazines in Germany. G+J owes the successful launch and extension of many quality-oriented titles and their websites to her: "I have spent most of my life working with and for Gruner + Jahr. My work as a journalist and publicist for this publisher has always been a great source of pleasure for me. I thank all of its staff members who stood by me at all times, not only with advice and assistance, but also with enthusiasm and eagerness. I will continue my unbroken commitment to Gruner + Jahr on the supervisory board."
