Berndt Schramka, acting school director of the Henri-Nannen School in Hamburg, is retiring from Gruner + Jahr at the end of 2002 to set up his own business

Hamburg, 08 July 2002 –

Acting school director, Berndt Schramka (50), will leave the Hamburg Henri-Nannen School on 31.12.2002 to take up new challenges. - he will set up his own business as a consultant and trainer. He took up the position of acting school director at Gruner + Jahr in 1991.

The reason behind his retirement is a restructuring of the school’s management. In the future, school director, Ingrid Kolb, will work more closely with independent seminar leaders for the various
training blocks.

School director Ingrid Kolb said: Berndt Schramka recognized early on how important the new media would become for German journalists and he integrated this in the training schemes at the Henri-Nannen School. He designed seminars for online research and for producing websites on the net. In 2000, in conjunction with the Institute for Interactive Media at the North Eastern Lower Saxony Technical College, he developed a practical training course for online journalists and had full managerial responsibility for this pioneering course at
Gruner + Jahr. Berndt Schramka rendered outstanding services to multimedia journalist training in Germany. I wish him lots of luck and success with his new projects.
