Motor Presse Stuttgart today announced that it has set a new course to accelerate the internationalisation of its media brands auto motor and sport und MOTORRAD. The Stuttgart-based media company has appointed G+J International Brands and Licenses to identify license partners in countries where Motor Presse Stuttgart is not yet represented through subsidiaries or editions produced under license.

André; Möllersmann, 36, has been appointed to head the "International Brands and Licenses Unit" at G+J International with effect from July 1, 2009. The purpose of the newly created department is to internationalize G+J's strong brands such as GALA, GEO, ELTERN/Parenting Network and the international popular-science titles PM, QUEST, FOCUS and MUY INTERESANTE, both in print and online. The department will also serve to support synergies between the international brands.

G+J Netherlands has expanded its portfolio to include another highend women's magazine. The publisher has acquired a majority share in the magazine JAN from the Telegraaf Tijdschriften Groep, with retroactive effect from January 1st 2009. The acquisition also includes the parenting magazine JANTJE and the JAN-MAGAZINE.nl website.

G+J International is establishing a new international parenting network, based on the German ELTERN.de website, in a move which represents G+J's first transnational online project. By the end of 2008 local websites will go online in Croatia, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia and Spain. In 2009 the worldwide rollout will continue. The beta version was already launched at the end of September in Croatia (www.roditelji.hr) and by the end of October the parenting website in Italy will also go online (www.nostrofiglio.it).

Gruner + Jahr continues its international expansionist course by entering a joint venture with the Mexican magazine publisher Editorial Televisa, with effect from April 1, 2007. Editorial Televisa has already been publishing the Mexican editions of the popular-science magazine MUY INTERESANTE and the parenting magazine SER PADRES since 1986 under license. Editorial Televisa is part of Grupo Televisa, the largest media group in the Spanish-speaking countries. Beyond the magazine business, it also operates satellite services, TV channels and online portals.

Gruner + Jahr is branching out into yet another European growth market. By acquiring a 50-percent stake in Daphne Communications S.A., one of Greece´s leading magazine publishers, G+J has become the first foreign publisher to buy a share of this magnitude in a Greek publishing company. The remaining 50 percent of Daphne´s shares are owned by the Antenna Group, Greece´s largest commercial-TV corporation. Daphne Communications was established in 1995 and currently publishes eleven magazines, including the women´s titles DIVA and ASTROLOGOS, the "living" publication IKIA/DIAKOSMISI and the parenting magazine PAIDI/NEI GONIS. The Athens-based publisher has 230 employees.
