Hamburg, 22 June 2009 – Under the management of Stefanie Meierfrankenfeld as Managing Director, G+J IMS further expands its presence in Europe by opening an office to service the Italian market.
On July 1, 2009 G+J IMS will be opening its sixth foreign office, adding the Milan site to its existing operations in London, Paris, Gent, Zurich and Vienna. The strong local presence of key deciders in the advertising activities of the fashion, design and furniture industries in Italy makes Milan G+J IMS;rsquo;s highest-turnover sales office. The new office ends the company;rsquo;s longstanding commission-based representation by Blei Spa on the Italian market, and substantiates the ongoing expansion of G+J;rsquo;s international media marketing activities. The move further enhances G+J IMS;rsquo;s leading marketing expertise among German publishers abroad and strengthens its growing third-party business. The six international offices are assisted in their efforts by 17 sales representatives who market the G+J IMS portfolio around the world.
The new office will be headed by Stefanie Meierfrankenfeld, 34, in her capacity as Managing Director of G+J International Sales Italy SRL. She will relocate to Milan from Hamburg, where she served as Head of Sales at International Media Sales to date, on July 1, 2009. In her new role, she is responsible for the future expansion of ad sales for G+J;rsquo;s media in Italy. Like the heads of G+J;rsquo;s other international sales offices – Meierfrankenfeld reports to Christoph Gerth, Director International Media Sales.
Stefanie Meierfrankenfeld, a business graduate, began her career at Gruner + Jahr in 2000 with a trainee program during the course of which she worked as Online Sales Manager and Portfolio Manager in the marketing department at G+J Electronic Media Sales (EMS). In 2002 she left to join AOL Germany as Consultant Business ; Sales Strategy, and was promoted to Sales Strategy Manager and International Sales Coordinator in 2003. In 2004 Stefanie Meierfrankenfeld returned to G+J IMS, where she has supervised the coordination of international market development operations ever since, including playing a formative role in building the business with the Italian customers of all G+J magazines and websites.
Christoph Gerth, Head of International Media Sales, said: ;ldquo;I am pleased to have won Stefanie Meierfrankenfeld, a strong executive with long years of experience in the fields of fashion, jewelry, furniture and design, as well as a good network with our Italian customers and agencies, to head our Italy office. We now have the best possible setup for keeping the international ad sales business on track for success, both for G+J and for our B2B clients.;rdquo;
