Hamburg, 16 July 2002 –
The Hamburg Henri-Nannen Journalist School has set up a new job forum on its website: www.journalistenschule.de/chancen. Editorial offices can click their way to direct contact with qualified journalists in the magazines, newspapers, radio, television and multimedia areas. Freelance writers are also listed on the job forum, along with their topics of interest, language knowledge and professional experience.
Editorial offices can search for suitable candidates for permanent positions or freelance work, and can also publish their requirements. The information is posted immediately. Only graduates from the Hamburg Henri-Nannen School have access to the offerings. This new service will be further extended and improved, for example, with links to announcements of journalism awards and scholarships.
School director Ingrid Kolb said: This information offering on the Internet is much more efficient than our postal service with which we used to inform our graduates and former students about interesting job offers. Through networking via the Internet, ex-students can now also swap valuable tips with each other for entering the profession. This online service is particularly appropriate for the times we live in and for our school.
