Upon opening its new office, IMS had already won the well-known business magazine "Forbes" and British Airways' renowned in-flight and ambient media as new clients.

In a continuingly difficult global marketenvironment, Europe´s biggest magazine publisher Gruner + Jahr in 2003again earned very good money and is well equipped for further growth.EBITA was improved to ;euro; 238 million (previous year: ;euro; 234 million) primarilydue to a strengthened core business and continuing strict cost discipline.Return on Sales rose to 9.6 percent (previous year: 8.3 percent). Beforepublishing investments, i.e. not including development costs and start-uplosses for new magazine titles, ROS amounted to 12.1 percent. Due to specialitems such as disposals and currency, income from external sales effects fellto ;euro; 2.48 billion (previous year: ;euro; 2.8 billion); adjusted for these specialitems, revenues remained stable.

Let´s Eat! Gruner + Jahr Launches ESSEN;TRINKEN – FÜR JEDEN TAG

The ESSEN;TRINKEN family will soon welcome a new member to its table: Next Tuesday marks the launch of ESSEN;TRINKEN – FÜR JEDEN TAG, a new Gruner + Jahr food magazine in the handy pocket format (12.8 x 19 cm, or roughly 5 x 8 inches). "Easy, fast, delicious," is the magazine´s claim; its concept is the brainchild of the experienced ESSEN;TRINKEN team. "We cater primarily to ´spontaneous cooks´," says editor-in-chief Martin Lagoda. "Thanks to its size, readers can easily take ESSEN;TRINKEN – FÜR JEDEN TAG to the supermarket with them and buy all they need then and there– we consciously avoided very exclusive ingredients." The preparation of the dishes is accordingly simple: maximum "time-to-meal" is 30 minutes.
