Hamburg, 27 January 2008 –
Christoph Gerth, 32, will be taking over the management of the International Media Sales (IMS) marketing unit at G+J Germany with effect from March 1, 2008. He succeeds André; Freiheit, who, as announced earlier, will take on the position of Senior Director Ad Sales at G+J STERN/GEO/ART on March 1.
Gerth, a business economist, joined the Financial Times group in summer 1998 after a stint in ad sales at Haymarket Publishing, London, and has served the group in various positions since. He initially supervised international ad sales for the FINANCIAL TIMES DEUTSCHLAND since its establishment, then was put in charge of ad sales for the "Financial Times" (FT) in Germany and eventually was appointed to supervise the FT's major international Key Accounts. He most recently was responsible for ad sales in all markets outside Britain, as Head of European Operations at the FT.
