G+J International is investing in the fast-growing Polish online market, assuming ownership of the profitable Pixelate Ventures Sp.z.o.o. Pixelate Ventures operates, the biggest Polish youth portal, as well as the social fashion community and the photo blog

As a first step, G+J is acquiring a 70 percent share of the company from a group of investors including Holtzbrinck Ventures, increasing its ownership percentage to 100% over the next three years. Both parties agreed not to disclose the sales price.

Pixelate Ventures will be integrated as a subsidiary of G+J Poland. The company founder and current management will remain in their current capacities along with the company's approximately 35-member team. has been in existence since 2002 and is geared to Internet users between the age of 15 and 25. With around three million registered users and 800 million monthly page impressions, is one of Poland's biggest community websites of any type.

A relevant percentage of users have premium accounts, costing between 1 and 8 euros per month depending on the range of functions supported. also achieves advertising revenue.

Apart from customizable user profiles, offers chatting functions, photo galleries and expert forums on selected topics.

As a social shopping community, occupies a market niche. The website concept is based on information sharing and user reviews of fashion and shopping items as well as on links to the relevant eCommerce portals.
