Hamburg, 28 November 2011 – In the Netherlands, Gruner + Jahr subsidiary G+J Uitgevers will launch the Dutch edition of VOGUE in spring 2012. The legendary fashion magazine will be published under licence from Condé; Nast.
Karin Swerink will become editor-in-chief of the Dutch edition of VOGUE – Swerink brought GLAMOUR magazine onto the Dutch market in 2005, and has successfully run the masthead since then. This makes her well equipped to run the new title: she has gathered a great deal of experience in her current position and has cultivated outstanding contacts in all domains of the fashion industry.
Sabine Geurten is to take over Swerink's post as the editor-in-chief of GLAMOUR. She is one of the leading stylists in the Netherlands today, and has worked for Marie Claire and Grazia amongst other titles. In addition, Geurten has taught in the fashion styling programme at the Artemis Academy since 2010.
"I am delighted that we have been able to integrate the most important fashion magazine in the world into our portfolio thanks to the VOGUE licensing agreement, and that we can expand our collaboration with Condé; Nast," says Torsten-Jörn Klein, President G+J International. The launch will help us consolidate our position in the premium women's magazine market in the Netherlands. Thanks to its experience and successes with premium titles like GLAMOUR, QUEST, National Geographic and JAN, G+J Uitgevers is optimally prepared for a successful launch. I wish Karin Swerink and her team every success."
"VOGUE has always occupied an outstanding position in the cultural life of the countries where it has been published. We are looking forward to that success story continuing in the Netherlands," says Chairman of Condé; Nast International Jonathan Newhouse.
