What counts as personal information?

First off, we would like to explain what GUJ.DE defines as personal information. "Personal, identity-related information" is information that can be used explicitly to learn about your identity. This includes information like your real name, address, street address, and phone number. It does not include information that cannot be linked directly with your real identity, such as favorite websites or number of users of a given site.

Where do you collect personal information?

GUJ.DE asks you for your last name, first name and other personal information when you register for one of our custom services such as ordering information material, subscribing to press releases or using the download library. We also record this information when you order a subscription. GUJ.DE stores this information on a specially protected server in Germany. We only collect any and all information relating to your identity if you have explicitly provided them to us.

Do we disclose personal information to third parties?

We only use the personal data you provide in accordance with the currently valid data protection/competition laws. Gruner + Jahr GmbH & Co KG will use your data to provide you with information about interesting activities and news only if you explicitly authorize the use of your e-mail, telephone and fax details for advertising purposes.

Usage Evaluation via Google Analytics

To analyze the use of GUJ.DE websites, uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). This service uses cookies. The cookie produces information about your use of websites which is usually transmitted to and stored on Google servers in the USA. GUJ.DE only uses Google Analytics with an "_anonymizeIP()" extension so that IP addresses are processed in an abbreviated format in order to avoid them being linked directly to you. However, due to the IP anonymizing function on this website, Google shortens your IP address within the member states of the EU or other contracting states of the European Economic Area. Only on rare occasions will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use the generated information to evaluate your use of the websites, compile reports on website activities and provide further services related to website usage on our behalf. If necessary, Google will also transmit this information to third parties if this procedure is required by law or if third parties process this data on Google's behalf. Incorporation of Social Media Plug-ins
